The Hormone Foundation offers a variety of programs and services to reach the public with important hormone-related information. Our strategies involve dissemination and promotion directly to consumers, physicians and consumer media. We welcome the opportunity to collaborate with corporations, patient support groups, government agencies, and non-profit organizations to expand the reach of important health messages in creative ways.
Here are some ideas on how your organization can partner with The Hormone Foundation:
Educational Materials Distributed to the Public and to Physicians’ Practices
- Fact sheets – Designed to provide general information on a variety of hormone-related conditions, fact sheets can be developed in a variety of languages and targeted to specific audiences.
- Brochures – Designed to provide comprehensive information about a specific issue. These can be translated and targeted to specific audiences.
- Patient Treatment Guidelines – Based on The Endocrine Society’s Clinical Practice Guidelines, the patient guides are designed to help patients with specific endocrine-disorders to partner with their physicians to reach the goals of their treatment.
- CD-ROMs and Videos – Designed to provide interactive information for patients on a variety of hormone-related conditions.
Online Education
Through our website, the Foundation can deliver information for the public in a variety of ways:
- Therapeutic Areas – Information is provided on specific hormone-related conditions (e.g., signs and symptoms, screening and diagnosis, treatment options, lifestyle and prevention)
- Demographic Areas – Targeted hormone-related information and resources for populations with specific needs (e.g., midlife health for women)
- Interactive Animations – Designed to educate the public about specific hormone-related conditions through images and text. (e.g., Estrogen in a Woman’s Life, 2002)
- Opinion Polls – Interactive online survey where visitors can gauge their knowledge about a variety of hormone-related conditions.
- Risk assessment Tools – Interactive online tool designed for patients to gauge their individual risk for developing certain hormone-related conditions (e.g., breast cancer, diabetes, osteoporosis).
Live Events to Educate the Public and the Media - Public Education Forums – Designed to provide information on a specific hormone-related condition, these events offer an opportunity to bring together experts and the public and include a promotional campaign to increase exposure locally and nationally.
- Media Roundtables – Designed to provide information on a specific hormone-related condition or issue (e.g., new science; emerging health issue; treatment guidelines), these events offer an opportunity to bring together experts and members of the media and include a promotional campaign to increase exposure locally and nationally.
- Promotional Events – Designed to raise awareness about the Foundation and hormone-related conditions in general. (e.g., 5K Run/Walk)
Media Campaigns to Educate the Public and the Media
The Foundation employs a variety of communications strategies to educate the public and consumer media about important hormone-related information. - Media Roundtables – Designed to provide information on a specific hormone-related condition or issue (e.g., new science; emerging health issue; treatment guidelines), these events offer an opportunity to bring together experts and members of the media and include a promotional campaign to increase exposure locally and nationally.
- Media Campaigns – Designed to provide local and national media outlets with information for stories on specific hormone-related conditions through a combination of strategies. These can include satellite media tours, video news releases (VNR), public service announcements (PSA) and more.
- Desk-side Briefings – Designed to give media representatives full, one-on-one access with an expert on a specific topic.
- Advertorials – Ads and cause-related marketing in daily and long-lead publications to raise awareness about specific health issues and promote educational resources.
- Paid Placements – Short article distributed to over 10,000 local community papers (e.g., dailies, weeklies) to provide information on a specific health issue and promote educational resources.
- Media Relations – Designed to promote local and national events and educational resources to the public by developing relationships and providing useful information that media representatives can use to write for the public.
