Menopause and the Future of Women's Health Science and health reporters face unique challenges. They must translate complex and often contradictory information in ways that can be understood by the public, yet ensure that the content is accurate and complete. This was especially true in 2002 after the initial results of the Women’s Health Initiative (WHI) study were announced and with subsequent publications of WHI results. In 2008, The Hormone Health Network, the public education affiliate of The Endocrine Society, implemented an innovative program to learn more about media coverage of the WHI. Below are links to our findings and supporting publications, as well patient resources on a variety of women’s health issues. The goal of this program is to strengthen the media’s critical role in helping women make informed decisions about the best ways to manage their menopausal symptoms.
